Niurka Barroso’s Faces of Eve mural ignited a group of dynamic women to organize around a mission to celebrate and support the brilliant ideas of women in community. The mural was the first project our collaborative successfully supported and fully funded. Our current project is to help bring to fruition the brilliant idea of Jonnie Mae Perry to build a new cultural center in the underserved community of Gifford Florida.

While this journey has unfolded in the small local community of Vero Beach, Florida, we feel it represents a microcosm of the global community of women who have long struggled with feeling alone, unsupported and unable to find a seat at the table in a male dominated world.  It is our hope that women everywhere will find inspiration here.

In early 2019, FE-sponsored Women in the Raw meetups became a monthly affair. At these well-attended events, women gathered to share ideas and support one another in community.  These gatherings gave birth to The Voices of Eve, a series of lectures and interviews focused on issues that matter most to women. It also gave rise to the Faces of Eve Art Book, which is our fundraising tool to support the Gifford Cultural Center.
